Beginning on the Shelby‑Harrison County line at a point approximately 300 feet east of the SW Corner Section 31‑T79N‑R40W; Shelby County, (a point near the NE Corner Section 4‑T78N‑R41W, Harrison County); thence in a northeasterly direction through Sections 31, 30, 29 and 20‑T79N‑R40W to the south corporation line of Portsmouth, connecting with Railway Street.

Portsmouth:

Beginning on Railway Street at the south corporation line then northeast on Railway Street to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Portsmouth, connecting with Railway Street; thence northeasterly through Sections 16, 9, 10, 3 and 2‑T79N‑R40W, and Sections 35 and 26‑T80N‑R40W to a point about 350 feet south of the center of Section 26‑T80N‑R40W; thence northerly through Sections 26 and 23‑T80N‑R40W to the south corporation line of Panama, connecting with an unnamed street.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 191 begins on the Shelby‑Harrison County line approximately 4 miles southwest of Portsmouth, and travels northeasterly via Portsmouth and Panama to Iowa 37 near Earling, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 191 in Shelby County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 191 in Shelby County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
